November 20 - Quilts for Kids

Okay, all you crafty people out there... this one's for you!  Even those of us who are craft-challenged can participate.... READ ON!

Quilts for Kids, Inc. transforms discontinued, unwanted and other fabrics into patchwork quilts that comfort children fighting a life battle with a serious illness such as cancer, AIDS, as well as children of abuse.  Their goal is to link design centers and other fabric sources nationwide to their communities, so that children in need in those regions may be served.

Quilts for Kids was founded in  August of 2000 and since that time millions of pounds of fabric have been saved from landfills and tens of thousands of quilts have been distributed worldwide through the generosity of 10,000+ volunteer quilters.

Quilts for Kids is a non-profit program that taps into the sewing talents of quilters across the country. They transform pieces of fabric into tokens of warmth for children in hospitals, foster care and family abuse shelters.  Wrapped in a colorful quilt stitched with love, children can find security and comfort even in the most stressful situations.
